A COMPREHENSIVE DNA TRAINING geared towards trial and post-conviction attorneys that gets beyond the basics, led by forensic DNA experts as well as experienced attorneys. The training will cover the following topics, and will end with breakout sessions examining issues in cases proposed by attendees:

  • DNA litigation tips and strategies
  • Intermediate and advanced issues of DNA analysis and the underlying science
  • Discovery motions
  • New DNA tests – including STRmix now used by the Mass. State Police, forensic genealogy forensic phenotyping (facial images from DNA)
  • An expert’s interactive display of DNA results, and discussions of defense and motion strategies
